Senior Global Mobility Consultant
The role of Global Mobility Consultant is predominantly operational and part of our regional Global Centre of Excellence for Global Mobility. The focus geography is Mainland Europe, and includes inbound and outbound expats to the region as well as many intraregional moves. Occasional operational work for the broader region is also expected. The position is based in The Hague, and reports to the in-country GM Lead.

Primary Job Responsibilities
Immigration
  • Screen assignees for permit eligibility and coordinate with the relocation service provider or immigration provider for processing
  • Advise hiring managers regarding visa and permit options, timescales and costs
  • Work with relocator or immigration provider to ensure permits are obtained in a timely manner
  • Track permit progress and keep stakeholders informed
  • Ensure extensions are submitted on a timely basis
Induction and relocation
  • Ensure timely coordination of the following actions, including assignee briefing - explain key policies, processes and terms and conditions e.g. Tax equalisation, GSD (Goods & Service Differential), immigration process, relocation steps, expense claims, timesheets etc.
  • Coordinate with the relocation service provider on accommodation and schooling – ensure temporary accommodation is reserved in line with arrival date. Initiate vendor services such as home search, school search and coordinate documentation for securing rental property/ school place; references, deposit administration.
  • Banking – coordinate opening of bank account and reference letter
  • Local registrations - coordinate application for local social security number / other registrations
  • Relevant tax applications such as 30% rule.
    • Provide on-going support to assignees with assignment matters such as questions regarding payroll, benefits, immigration, expenses, insurances, local benefits e.g. housing, transportation, schooling, shipping, local registrations
    Administration
    • Prepare assignee correspondence e.g. assignment letters, extensions, welcome e-mails etc., as applicable and obtain any necessary approvals. Ensure correspondence is issued to assignee and all relevant stakeholders
    • Maintain HR and Global Mobility Databases with expat data as appropriate
    • Maintain Assignee files with copies of documents as appropriate
    • Update and maintain local Global Mobility processes and procedures as necessary
    Payroll
    • Apply for/ ensure Certificates of Coverage/A1s are obtained by assignee's home country and copies are provided to expatriate payroll provider. Liaise with payroll as and when necessary to ensure changes to compensation are captured for tax remittance/ local payment
    Job Qualifications
    • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role (in HR or GM) with proven experience in adapting to the cultural variations of doing business globally
    • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment
    • Knowledge of complete assignment lifecycle, mobility policies and processes, European immigration laws, social security and tax issues
    • Highly motivated, organized, and ability to multitask
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skill with all levels of business
    • Excellent interpersonal and relationship development skills
    • Good level of numeracy, data and presentation skills
    • Required language Fluent English; ability to speak Dutch and one additional European language is highly recommended
    • Desired experience of working within a complex, matrix structured international environment
    Qualification
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with an advanced degree preferred
