Head of Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC)- Switzerland 
 
For a challenging and interesting position we are now seeking an experienced Head of IDMC to:  
- Provide strategic vision and leadership  
- Ensure intellectual leadership and position IDMC as a global leader on internal displacement issues  
- Ensure strong management and adequate resourcing of IDMC  
- Manage and coordinate the institutional relationship with NRC  
The Head of IDMC reports to NRC’s Head of Advocacy and Information, and works closely with the NRC Resident Representative Geneva 
 
Job description 
■Define and lead the implementation of IDMC's overall strategy and priorities  
■Represent IDMC externally and ensure collaboration and coordination between IDMC and relevant external structures  
■Maintain, enhance and develop relations with key partners, donors and stakeholders, in coordination with the NRC Resident Representative Geneva  
■Responsible for IDMC's funding strategy and resource mobilization  
■Manage IDMC  
■Ensure coherence between IDMC's strategy and activities, and NRC's advocacy priorities and operational considerations  
■Ensure that effective and standardized accountability and reporting systems are in place  
■Responsible for IDMC's annual appeal, report and work plan  
■Responsible for IDMC's institutional commitments to NRC, donors and other partners 
 
Qualifications 
■Master's degree in law, social/ political sciences or management  
■Senior management experience  
■Experience in working with research and legal experts  
■Proven track record in securing significant funding from a variety of funders  
■Experience of building and maintaining relationships at senior level and of representation with governments, UN agencies and NGOs  
■Excellent public speaker  
■Comprehensive understanding of ongoing issues related to forced migration  
■Excellent written and oral communications skills in English  
■Experience of working with humanitarian/ development NGO is an advantage  
■Knowledge of French is an advantage
