Senior Protection Associate (GL7)
The London Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is seeking to fill two vacancies as follows:
Senior Protection Associate (GL7) The position is an opportunity to contribute to UNHCR’s legal protection function in the United Kingdom. The Protection Assistant will work within the UNHCR Quality Integration Project, assisting in the implementation of UNHCR’s oversight and training functions within the UK Border Agency.
Salary: starting from £43,042 (subjected to National Insurance contributions) depending on experience.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Assess the quality of decisions and substantive asylum interviews, focus on methodology and provide feedback to UK Border Agency.
• Contribute to capacity building activities through the provision of substantive comment and advice on proposed revisions to asylum procedures, policy, training programmes and other aspects of the asylum process where relevant..
• Provide training on principles of international refugee law.
• Prepare and, where appropriate, present briefings for various external actors including civil society, UK Parliament, and media.
• Draft reports on the progress of the Quality Integration Project.
• Remain abreast of developments in international refugee law and subsidiary forms of protection, as well as domestic developments in asylum law, policy and case law.
• Assume any other legal/protection responsibilities that may be assigned by the Representative and or Legal Officer.
Person Specification:
• Knowledge of International Refugee Law and Human Rights Law and ability to apply the relevant legal principles.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the UK asylum procedure is desirable

Ja ik weet het: de kans dat u doorklikt is geringer dan wanneer het hele artikel hier staat en een kopie van het orgineel maken handig kan zijn voor uw zaak. Wilt u zelf wat overnemen van dit weblog.
