Postdoc Research project ‘Law in the everyday lives of mixed families’
This project addresses the question how ‘mixed’ couples experience law in their everyday lives, how they address legal issues and with what results. The methodology used in this project will consist of a socio-legal analysis, mainly based on qualitative interviews with couples.
Tasks
• conduct research as described above, leading to academic publications;
• participate in coordinating tasks in the management of the project;
• participate in co-supervision of PhD students;
• organise conference(s) and edit edited volume;
• (limited) undergraduate teaching.
Requirements
Candidates have a PhD, have demonstrable affinity with the topic of (regulation of) mixed intimacies and experience with socio-legal research. If candidates have equal qualifications on all other points, we will give preference to candidates who can speak French, Italian and English (preferably all three languages) .
Further particulars
The appointment will be initially for 1 year. After satisfactory evaluation of the initial appointment, the appointments can be extended for a total duration of 4 years. You can find information about our excellent fringe benefits of employment at www.workingatvu.nl like:
• remuneration of 8,3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday allowance;
• a minimum of 29 holidays, in the case of full-time employment;
• generous contributory (65%) commuting allowance based on public transport.
Salary
The salary will be in accordance with VU University regulations for academic personnel. The salary will, depending on experience, range from a minimum of € 3.238,- gross per month (salary scale 10) up to a maximum of € 4.757,- gross per month (salary scale 11) based on a fulltime employment.
