- Contribution to the development of the LUC major in Global Justice, which houses research-led teaching ranging from public international law, peace and conflict studies, applied ethics, and criminology, to case studies in social, political, environmental, and economic justice.
- Delivery and design of undergraduate courses in the interdisciplinary major of Global Justice, including thematically and methodologically related courses across the BA and BSc programme.
- Development of interdisciplinary research projects which can integrate undergraduate research, including supervision of capstone (honours thesis) projects.
- Tutorship of no more than 30 students through provision of academic and career guidance.
- Committee service in academic administration bodies, including interviewing for the annual student admissions cycle and contributing to student recruitment activities.
- Participation in the social and extra-curricular academic life of LUC.
Functie-eisen
- PhD degree or equivalent in a field allied to global justice (with preference given to candidates with an interdisciplinary background that speaks to global challenges).
- Demonstrable potential for excellence in research-led teaching.
- Demonstrable passion for undergraduate education, in and out of the classroom (experience with blended learning technologies is an advantage).
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for liberal arts and sciences in higher education.
- Demonstrable commitment to a close-knit, interdisciplinary, academic community.
- Outstanding research qualities manifest in an established or developing publication record.
- Superior command of English (familiarity with any of the other UN languages is desirable but not required).
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
LUC
offers a full-time Assistant Professorship, starting on 1 August 2013,
in the dynamic and growing academic setting of LeidenUniversity and The
Hague. LUC is located within the Faculty of Campus The Hague, Leiden’s
second location in The Netherlands and a 12-minute train ride from the
city of Leiden. The Faculty is growing rapidly and has seen the recent
arrival of the Institute for Public Administration, the establishment of
the School of Governance and the Centre for Innovation, and the
introduction of new bachelors and masters programmes. Established in
1575, Leiden University is the oldest university in The Netherlands and
one of Europe's foremost research universities, which is now proud to
host its own honours university college in The Hague.
The position is “tenure track”, which may lead to a permanent (tenured) position after a three year period (contingent upon performance). The first year will be probationary; upon successful completion of this year a further two years will be offered. The appointment will proceed in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten). The salary will be in the range for an Assistant Professor;level depends on previous experience, and ranges between € 3.227,- (salary scale 11) and € 5.020,- (Salary Scale 12) gross per month, commensurate with qualifications, with additional holiday and end-of-year bonuses. Candidates from outside the Netherlands may be eligible for a substantial tax reduction (30% rule).
All newly appointed academic staff at LeidenUniversity are introduced to the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO), an individually-tailored learning process to assess your level of teaching qualifications. If needed, BKO facilitates further development of your teaching skills.

In verband met geldwolven die denken geld te kunnen claimen op krantenartikelen die op een blog als deze worden geplaatst maar na meestal een dag voor de krantenlezers aan leeswaardigheid hebben ingeboet terwijl wij vreemdelingenrecht specialisten ze soms wel nog jaren gebruiken om er een kopie van te maken voor een zaak ga ik over tot het plaatsen van alleen het eerste stukje. Ja ik weet het: de kans dat u doorklikt is geringer dan wanneer het hele artikel hier staat en een kopie van het orgineel maken handig kan zijn voor uw zaak.
