Where Next for Syrian Resettlement in Scotland?

by Glasgow University & GRAMNet
Wednesday 20 June 09:30 - 13:00
This event aims to deepen understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by Syrian adults and children who have been resettled in Scotland. The aim of this seminar is to launch two What Works Scotland Research Reports:  ‘Resettlement of Syrian Refugees in West Dunbartonshire’ and ‘The Educational needs of Syrian Refugee children in Scotland’.
The event is an opportunity to educate attendees on the background of the Syrian resettlement, the experiences of Syrians and to improve collaborative working across local services and activities, in line with the New Scots Strategy. The purpose of the event is to be a catalyst for dialogue and collaborative action in support of the Syrian resettlement. Delegates will leave with: a greater knowledge of the experiences of resettlement for Syrians, ideas for how local services can deepen and extend collaborative work to meet the needs of Syrians, ideas for increasing social connections between Syrians and other local communities, and new contacts and networks.
Booking process is to be announced: Please follow What Works Scotland on Twitter or sign-up for the newsletter to receive notification when the booking opens. It will also be posted on the organiser’s website.
