Soms loop je in procedures tegen iets aan waarvan je denkt "Dit zou nou wat zijn voor een kamervraag" omdat het een zaaksoverstijgend algemeen probleem is of een heel schrijnende kwestie. Ik weet de namen van een paar Tweede Kamer leden die migratie in hun pakket hebben maar zou graag een complete lijst aanleggen. Helpt u mee? 'Gun betrokken colleges rust' De Hoge Raad, de Afdeling bestuursrechtspraak van de Raad van State, de Raad voor de rechtspraak, de Centrale Raad van Beroep en het College van Beroep voor het bedrijfsleven hebben overleg gevoerd over de situatie na de intrekking van het wetsvoorstel Organisatie hoogste bestuursrechtspraak door de regering in november 2016. Zij stellen vast dat hun organisaties de afgelopen jaren veel energie hebben moeten steken in de voornemens zoals deze in het ingetrokken wetsvoorstel tot uiting kwamen. Energie die aan inhoudelijke kwesties had kunnen worden besteed. Ook is in het bijzonder bij de colleges, wier opheffing in het vooruitzicht werd gesteld en die thans blijven voortbestaan, schade van personele aard aangericht. Enerzijds zetten vaak zeer waardevolle krachten hun loopbaan elders voort in het zicht van de voorgenomen opheffing, anderzijds hadden de betrokken colleges daardoor minder werfkracht voor nieuwe, geschikte kandidaten. ...

Immigration is one of the most contested issues on the political agenda of liberal states across Europe and North America. While these states can be open and inclusive to newcomers, they are also often restrictive and exclusionary. The Politics of Immigration examines the sources of these apparently contradictory stances, locating answers in the nature of the liberal state itself. The book shows how four defining facets of the liberal state - representative democracy, constitutionalism, capitalism, and nationhood - generate conflicting imperatives for immigration policymaking, which in turn gives rise to paradoxical, even contradictory, policies. The first few chapters of the book outline this framework, setting out the various actors, institutions and ideas associated with each facet. Staatssecretaris mag man uitzetten naar Liberia De staatssecretaris van Veiligheid en Justitie mag een man naar zijn land van herkomst uitzetten. Dat is het oordeel van de rechtbank Oost-Brabant. De 31-jarige Liberiaan stelde onder meer dat hij bij terugkeer naar Liberia een reëel risico loopt op besmetting met het ebolavirus. Het virus heerst in Liberia en daarom is uitzetting volgens hem in strijd met artikel 3 van het Europees Verdrag tot bescherming van de rechten van de mens en de fundamentele vrijheden (EVRM). De voorzieningenrechter toetst of de staatssecretaris de man mag uitzetten. Volgens de rechter heeft de man niet aannemelijk gemaakt dat er sprake is van een reëel risico op besmetting met het ebolavirus.
