Gruesome evidence has emerged of attempted ethnic cleansing by Isis, with Amnesty International claiming that the terrorist group has turned northern Iraq into 'blood-soaked killing fields'. The London-based rights group says that Isis, also known as the Islamic State (IS), is trying to wipe out ethnic and religious minorities with mass summary killings that could amount to war crimes. It fears that vulnerable communities such as Assyrian Christians, Yazidis, Turkmen and Shabaks 'risk being wiped off the map of Iraq' by the terrorists, who in June overran northern and western parts of the country. Beste lezer,  Na Mosul zijn vorige week nog vier steden in Noord-Irak ingenomen door de separatistische terreurorganisatie Islamitische Staat. Christenen worden bedreigd met de dood. Mensen laten alles achter en vluchten naar Erbil, een stad vijftig kilometer verderop. Wat doet Dorcas? Dorcas komt in actie . Samen met de partnerorganisatie voorziet Dorcas honderden gevluchte en ontheemde families in Erbil in de eerste levensbehoeften; matrassen, water, voedsel en kookgerei. Op sommige locaties worden ook hygiëne-artikelen uitgedeeld. Dorcas ziet om naar de meest kwetsbaren – ouderen, kinderen, vrouwen en gehandicapten. Wat kan ik doen? The ancient religion is rumoured to have been founded by an 11th century Ummayyad sheikh, and is derived from Zoroastrianism (an ancient Persian faith founded by a philosopher), Christianity and Islam.
