Closing date: 20 Mar 2011 Location: Pakistan - Peshawar Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for a very experienced and capable Country Representative to head our operation in Pakistan. BACKGROUND – DRC PAKISTAN In response to the severe floods in July 2010, DRC initiated a programme in Pakistan focusing on emergency aid to the affected communities in the north-western province of Khyber Pakhtunkwha close to the Afghan border. During fall 2010, the majority of flood-displaced families returned to their place of origin, and DRC’s programme now aims to support the return and early recovery of the flood-affected people in the Province with a focus on Protection, Shelter & NFIs, Food Security & Livelihoods and small-scale infrastructure rehabilitation. The target group includes conflict induced IDPs and Afghan refugees. An estimated 1 million Afghan refugees reside in the Khyber Pakhtunkwha province, and the vast majority is exposed to long-term displacement. Current...
