Oxfam Novib and Het Grote Midden Oosten Platform would like to cordially invite everyone on Friday, February 24 to the opening of the photo exhibition “Unseen Beauty – Yemen: Art in Times of Destruction”. The opening on Friday, February 24 in The Hague is the starting point of a four-day exhibition that puts the spotlight on Yemen, a country in grave humanitarian crisis. The Yemeni photographer Thana Faroq puts a face to the crisis in her country, a face of unseen beauty in times of destruction. The exhibition provides a snapshot into the daily life of Yemeni women – and how their roles have changed due to the war. The opening starts 15:00, and is marked by a panel discussion about ‘Creating Beauty and Art i n Times of Destruction’, in which Yemeni photographer Thana Faroq and the Syrian ballet dancer Ahmad Joudeh will participate, moderated by the Dutch publicist, writer and programme maker Chris Keulemans.
