The argument that not giving a visa will help Americans get jobs is invalid as visitors visas normally create a lot of jobs because tourists spend a lot of money: hotels, restaurants,car hire, shopping, conferences etc. I read the US has a visa backlog. Regarding his COVID reasoning: The Netherlands is refusing visa due to COVID / Corona Americans however have visa free travel to The Netherlands and I rather would see them stay home when possible. And if Trump sees danger in international travel maybe he should keep his own citizens home too as they will return to the US as well (And I rather would like them to stay away from my country as well) "President Trump announced late Monday he will soon sign an executive order "to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States," in what appeared to be a drastic escalation of his efforts to fight the coronavirus pandemic and boost the economy." Vele jaren geleden kwam ik op Linkedin de bloggende Amerikaanse advocaat Carl Shusterman tegen. Net als ik begonnen bij de overheid en toen de vreemdelingen gaan bijstaan. Erg sympathieke man.   Much of the focus on immigration in the 2016 Presidential Campaign was on what to do with the 11 million undocumented persons in the US. Even after the election, the press continues to focus this subject: Will President-Elect Trump build a wall or a fence and who will pay for it? Will he round up and deport 11 million or 2 million people? What will he do with the existing DACA program? While these are all important questions, the media has largely ignored what will happen to our existing legal immigration system under the new administration. This is the system that brings to our country hundreds of thousands of physicians, nurses, medical researchers, IT professionals as well as the innovators who founded Google, Yahoo and many of the top Silicon Valley and biotech ...

In America het land van de absolute vrijheid van meningsuiting loopt Trump aan kop in de peilingen wellicht mede dankzij zijn anti-migratie en anti-Islam standpunten. In Schotland hebben ze Trump zijn ere-doctoraat ontnomen.
