This MOOC provides insight into the refugee phenomenon as one of the most complex, compelling and (arguably) misunderstood features of the 21st century. Taking a global perspective, it will outline the fundamentals of who ‘refugees’ are, where they come from and where they go, as well as delving into the features of the global system for refugee protection and ‘solutions’ for those who have been forcibly displaced. It places the student at the centre of the learning experience through engagement with a range of robust and challenging activities, materials and online peer engagement. We staan allemaal voor een enorme uitdaging. Ons vak is een vak van migratie en van mensen die van A naar B willen reizen. Voor advocaten en juridisch adviseurs is het ook direct gelinkt aan inkomen. Geen zaken geen geld. De COA en de IND medewerkers zullen geen problemen krijgen met hun salaris maar zij hebben weer andere uitdagingen omdat ze de zorg dragen over grote groepen mensen zoals bijvoorbeeld "Hoe zorg je dat in een asielzoekerscentrum waar mensen nog geen gemeenschappelijke taal hebben de regels van het RIVM worden nageleefd en de kwetsbare mensen in het centrum niet worden besmet."
