People are being illegally blocked from getting jobs and renting homes in the UK due to lengthy delays in the Home Office’s EU settlement scheme , according to lawyers. CASUS: Koerden komen op hun vlucht 17 jaar geleden aan op Cyprus en vragen asiel aan Groot-Brittanie op een Britse legerbasis. Ze willen naar Engeland. Engeland erkent geen asielaanvragen op legerbasissen want die willen ze niet zien overstromen met asielzoekers. Koerden vragen geen asiel aan op Cyprus omdat ze van mening zijn dat hun kans op werk daar nihil is. Met als gevolg dat ze al 17 jaar in een hutje op de basis wonen met 75 personen. Het gaat hier om een Somalier die ooit als vluchteling in Nederland is gekomen en Nederlander geworden. Zijn moeder neemt hem op 12 jarige leeftijd mee naar Engeland met een paar andere kinderen. Pa en twee zussen blijven in Nederland. De klager leeft meer dan 5 jaar in Engeland maar is een echte boef. Zijn laatste misdrijf is iemand in de trein beroven met een jachtmes. Hiervoor moet hij jaren de bak in. Vervolgens willen de Britten hem naar Nederland sturen.De klager beroept zich in hoger beroep er op dat de lagere rechter op hte gebied van artikel 8 EVRM en het Europese recht fouten heeft gemaakt bij de juridische interpretatie.
